Whether you like it or not, the fastest way to move from places to places is by air. So, if you hate flying buy do not have a choice, all you can do is to endure any horror you feel for the duration of the flight. But would you like experiencing this every time you fly?
Since you cannot to anything about it, all you have to do is to find ways on how to make your air travel more enjoyable. 1. Book early. Give yourself time to schedule your flight at your most convenient date and time. It is not to say that you book your flight several months from now. It only points out that booking early gives you enough time to prepare for the flight and all the documents you need for the flight. And if you have booked your flight early and have prepared your travel documents early, you can assure yourself that at the time of your flight you are already prepared.
2. Never strain yourself too much before air travel. If you are flying for long hours, make sure you are well rested. Pack your luggage long before you have to leave. Never pack your luggage hours before your flight. This will not help you relax during the flight. Sleep well and eat well. The key is to relax before the flight and during the flight.
3. Travel light. Maybe you have heard of this and it is totally correct. Bring only what you think you would need. Traveling light would mean less worry during baggage check-in and less weight to drag during the whole travel. In other words, traveling light means less stress and less tiring trip.
4. Bring some reading materials or some gadgets for past time. Bring a book or a magazine. Bring your iPod since you cannot use your phone during the flight. Better yet, sleep during your flight. If you are tired of sleeping, read. If you don’t like reading, walk around the cabin for a couple of minutes to break the monotony. Going to the lavatory is a good excuse to walk. The point is, entertain yourself and don’t think you are in flight. If you don’t feel carrying some added weight, airlines usually have entertainment system right in front of your seats.
5. Relax during stops. Oh, does relax mean to wait? Okay. In your eagerness to arrive at your destination, you probably do not realize that you are missing a lot. If you are in for long stops, roam around the vicinity of your hotel. It may not be your destination but you can still enjoy it by killing the time. When the flight is on, you are tired and can go to sleep fast. Before you know it, you are landing on your destination. If your stop is just for a couple of hours, you can look around. Just make sure that you don’t lose yourself around the airport.
See? Making your air travel enjoyable can be done in these easy ways. You don’t have to hate air travel. Love it. After all, you don’t have a choice.
